New Performance Points Program

We've just introduced a new program designed to reward our Providers for their effort in building up the stock footage inventory of their Provider Sites and for license sales. We call it the Moon Island Media Performance Points Program. Basically, by earning Performance Points an active Provider Site subscriber (a Provider) can lower the "Base Transaction Fee" that Moon Island Media retains from each license sale via a Provider Site. The details of the Performance Points program can be reviewed in the Provider's Handbook, but here's a quick summary:

Each Moon Island Media Provider Site has a base transaction fee which is specified in the Provider’s Agreement. The Base Transaction Fee is the percentage that Moon Island Media retains from each license purchase made via a Provider Site. For example, if a stock footage license purchase via your Provider Site were $100 with a Base Transaction Fee of 60%, Moon Island Media would retain $60.00 (60%) and pay you $40.00 (40%) for that license purchase. However, for each accounting period the Base Transaction Fee may be reduced according to earned Performance Points as follows:

a. 10 Performance Points are awarded to you for each new clip that is added to your Clip Inventory in an accounting period.

b. 10 Performance Points are deducted for each clip in your Clip Inventory that is deactivated or removed in an accounting period.

c. 10 Performance Points are awarded to you for each $100 in license purchases in an accounting period.

Each one hundred (100) Performance Points lowers your base transaction fee by 1% (one percent) up to 1000 (one thousand) points in an accounting period. Performance Points that are not applied to your Base Transaction Fee for an accounting period (such as having more than 1000 Performance Points in an accounting period )will be carried over to the next accounting period for as long as your Provider Site is active.

We sincerely hope each and every Moon Island Media Provider achieves the full Performance Points maximum each and every accounting period.

~ Pat Cook

Monthly Provider Site Fee Eliminated!

A business decision made early on was to charge a monthly fee of $49.95 for the subscription of a Provider Site from Moon Island Media. That original business decision was based on the premise that a monthly fee would encourage Provider Site subcribers to "pay attention" to their site which, of course, is good for everyone. While we didn't have anyone say no to a Provider Site because of the monthly fee, we didn't feel good about it. We felt it would be better to take a more positive approach and reward Provider Site subscribers for performance. So, in late September we ripped out the monthly fee and installed a "Performance Points" program.

The Performance Points program lowers the "Base Transaction Fee" (a percentage retained by Moon Island Media for each stock footage license fee sold via a Provider Site) according to the number of new clips added to a Provider's Site clip inventory and license sales totals in each accounting period (please request details). Please see the post "New Performance Points Program" for more info about the Performance Points program).

The Performance Points program is designed to reward our Providers for performance on the assumption that each intends to make their Provider Site successful and doesn't need a monthly bill to do so. We understood that this puts the financial burden on us while our Providers build up thier Provider Site inventory and get their site promotions going. But we feel its an investment worth making. Please support our effort to make each Moon Island Media Provider successful with thier stock footage offering.

~ Pat Cook
